Everyone has stories to tell.
If only there was more time to tell them.
It was my turn to cover the wildly popular Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, S.C. It seemed every journalist in our newsroom had covered it in some way at some point. My challenge was to find interesting stories to pull out of a crowd full of tired people just trying to get to the finish line. My editor had an idea, and I ran with it. Or actually, I stood at the finish line with a big sign that read: "Tell me your story." I was amazed by how many people just walked up and told me the fascinating reasons they chose to run this race at that particular time in their lives.
It was a lesson I never forgot. Everyone has a story to tell. Sometimes you just have to ask.
I’m always looking for new projects, story ideas
and opportunities to collaborate.
